Woman marries dog

Woman marries dog

An 18-year-old woman has married a dog in India.

Mangli Munda's wedding was attended by more than 50 guests and the dog, called Sheru, arrived in a chauffeur driven car.

The bride, however, appeared uncomfortable at the lavish ceremony.

"I'm not happy with this marriage," she commented on btv.

"I am marrying a dog because the villagers believe that my evil spell will be passed on to the dog.

"After that is done, the man I will marry will have a long life."

Village elders apparently told Munda that marrying the dog would save her future family and the community from an evil spell.

Woman marries her dog

An African woman has married her dog because she saidВ he has the same qualities as her late father.

Please tell me they're talking about a dance

Emily Mabou, of Aburi, Ghana, married her 18-month-old dog in a ceremony this week attended by a priest and local villagers, Ananova reported.

It was not clear what breedВ the dog was, however, Mabou said she had been praying for a life partner who would have all the qualities of her dad.

“My dad was kind, faithful, and loyal to my mum, and he never let her down,” she said.

The 29-year-old’s family boycotted the wedding, which they said was “a stupid step to combat her loneliness.”

But Mabou said she had been in relationships with many men who were “skirt-chasers and cheaters” and plans to raise children with her new husband by adopting.

Mabou added, “My dog is kind and loyal to me, and he treats me with so much respect.”

Bet he’s a tail-chaser, too:

Woman Marries Dog In Traditional Ceremony In India

An 18-year-old Indian girl has married a stray dog as a part of a tribal ritual designed to ward off an evil spell. Village elders hastily organised the wedding between Mangli Munda and the canine as the teenager is believed to be bringing bad luck to her community in a remote village in Jharkhand state. Mangli's father Sri Amnmunda agreed and even found a stray dog named Sheru as a match for his daughter. And while Mangli was a hesitant bride, she believes that the ceremony will help ensure that her future human husband will have a long life.

ITV Newlywed Amanda Rodgers says she and her dog Sheba just have a very deep emotional connection.

A British woman says she has finally found the true meaning of marriage now that she has divorced her husband and married her dog.

Amanda Rodgers and her dog/wife Sheba appeared on British television's ITV's "This Morning" Tuesday to discuss why she decided to wed her pet in a ceremony attended by 200 people in Croatia last week, reports the Mirror.

"She was two weeks old and she was new to the world — but I fell in love with her," Rodgers, 47, told the show's hosts. "I knew that we were meant to be."

Rodgers, whose Twitter feed uses the name "shebarodgers," told the Metro she got down on one knee to propose and ascertained from Sheba's wagging tail that she said yes.

She said the ceremony, which ended with a kiss, was the perfect way to mark what Sheba means to her. She told the Metro her new life partner was never unkind to her and the dog is always happy.

"Sheba had been in my life for years, making me laugh and comforting me when I was feeling low," she told the Metro. "I couldn't think of anything more I'd need from a life partner."

ITV The 46-year-old is thrilled to have ditched her husband for her dog.

Rodgers married a man 20 years ago but the marriage only lasted a few months.

The newlywed, who cradled the dog in her lap and petted it lovingly during the interview, admitted it is a big step to go from caring for a pet to loving it.

But, she said, "There are different kinds of love — my love for Sheba is very deep. We have a deep connection."

Rodgers said Sheba, a 4-year-old Jack Russell, controls whether they sleep in the bedroom and added she once made a man sleep in the dog bed for a whole week, the Mirror reports.

And Sheba definitely knows the spell she has Rodgers under.

ITV Sheba, a Jack Russell terrier, runs the show.

The scene was emotional for some and hilarious for others.

"Can you give yourself a hernia by trying not to laugh. ;) #IMarriedMyDog," tweeted host Phillip Schofield.
