Our society is obsessed with weight numbers and that obsession causes a lot of health problems through a multitude of eating disorders. I remember when I was young and going to the doctor's office for a check-up, there was a chart on the wall that showed if you were a certain height you should weigh between blank and blank. That number changed if you were a female or male and it was also based upon your age.
People fell hook-line-and-sinker to that chart. That included myself. As a teen, I became obsessed with dieting and making sure I was at the lower end of that number for my height. Of course, I was miserable because in order to stay at that weight - I couldn't eat over 600 calories a day. Even if I increased it to just 800 calories a day I would slowly start putting weight on. But I kept it down for several years and I was always pretty weak during those years. I lacked a lot of energy. Well how much energy can you get eating no more than 600 calories a day? Oh, according to the chart back then, I was supposed to weigh between 95lbs and 105lbs. Not that long ago I saw a new chart and I had to laugh because now the chart says I should weigh between 85lbs and 97lbs. Sure I'll weigh that amount probably after I've been dead for a few months.
The truth is - what the scale says has very little to do with anything. It's all about what is "healthy" for you. If you eat normally (not gorging out on junk food every single day), your body will actually find its own ideal weight. At that ideal weight you will fluctuate between 2 to 5 lbs upwards or downwards depending on your physical activity level and the season. Let's face it, most of us overeat in the winter. That is generally because of all the extra sweets around. But if you keep your eyes on your weight at that time, you'll still remain pretty stable.
Getting enough sleep also affects your weight either upwards or downwards because, again, the amount of sleep one person needs is not necessarily the same amount of sleep another person needs.
I have known people who society would consider overweight - some overweight by a lot - but these people were very, very healthy. They actually ate well and they even exercised on a fairly regular basis. Their complexion was healthy, their respiratory system was healthy, etc. etc. etc. I have also known people who were quite slender but they lacked a lot of energy, they ate fast foods and greasy foods almost every day, and two of them died in their early 30's from heart problems. And yes, I've known very healthy slim people and very unhealthy heavy people. My point is, one scale of a supposed healthy weight equating to a certain height is pointless.
I have a daughter who is 5'3" and she weighs 138lbs. According to the "chart", she should weigh between 110 and 124 lbs. Well, she is currently wearing a size 3 and is extremely healthy looking. If she were to lose 28lbs to 14lbs, my gosh - I'd be frightened. She'd drop back down into children's clothes and look horribly guant. That weight chart is ridiculous for her. I also have another daughter who is 5'5" and she weighs 146lbs and wears a size 6. According to the chart, she should weigh between 117 and 130. At 146lbs I can assure you she doesn't look the slightest bit "overweight" but at 117, like her sister, I would be very, very concerned. Both of my girls are "small framed".
This same chart shows that a woman at 5'7" should weigh between 123-136 if she is small framed, 133-147 if she is medium framed and 143-163 if she is large framed. So the answer, if you want to go according to the chart, is anywhere from 123-163. But again, that's only numbers and not every woman who is 5'7" is "healthy" at the very same weight. So focus on being healthy all around rather than on what the scale says. Living by a scale makes life very miserable.
